Praju, hailing all the way from the United Arab Emirates, joined PBEC (where I worked from October 1998 to February 2003) as an intern in early 2001. She came all the way to Hawaii to study at Hawaii Pacific University, where she met her boyfriend, also from India. At HPU, she is working on her Masters in business, specializing in Human Resources. On the latter point, I told her I hoped she wasn't looking to our office for any guidance. Like Carrie, future plans possibly include becoming a restauranteur. She envisions opening a four-star Indian restaurant in Honolulu, a la "India Palace," with all the trimmings (including an on-site bangle maker). "There's more to Indian cuisine than curry and spices," says she. She and her sweetheart married in 2002.
