Hamilton Library, also known as "The Icebox," is noted for its dual purpose as a research library and as a real-life teaching laboratory for the university's first-rate graduate library program. It's second only to the state's main library in the size of its collection, and the best anywhere when it comes to Asian, Pacific and Hawaiian references and archives. It also has the reputation as being the campus hotspot for bizarre happenings.
In my wild youth (trust me, I had a wild youth), Nate and I would spend many a day spelunking in the building's expansive underground passages. In the recent past, it served as unofficial campus headquarters for the University aVenue project.
