In the summer of 2001, Mary joined PBEC (where I worked from October 1998 to February 2003) as a research intern. She left a few months later.

She grew up in Hawai`i, and attended the UH Lab School. After attending college on the Mainland, she returned to the islands. In addition to working with us downtown, she is apparently very active in the local dance scene. A salsa-centric biography of her appears on the Hot Salsa Dancing Hawaii website:

Mary has danced in Washington, D.C., and performed in Hawaii. Mary is one of our top dancers and is a Local Gal but speaks fluent Spanish. Mary's mom is a Spanish teacher and exposed Mary to Latin music at a young age.

Vitals:

Born May 24. Graduated from the University of Hawai`i Lab School in 1995.
