HD: Waikiki Apple Store Grand Opening

Royal Hawaiian Apple Store Grand Opening from hawaii on Vimeo.

The grand opening of the new Apple Store in the Royal Hawaiian Center in Waikiki on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008. I arrived at 3 a.m., and was second in line behind Sophie, and we watched as the construction crew raced to finish the store's facade before sunrise. The event was celebrated with a Hawaiian blessing and hula performances.

The above is the embedded video player from Vimeo, one of the few online video hosts to serve up HD content. To see the HD video (and not a scaled and compressed Flash version), however, you need to view it at Vimeo or download the original movie file (1280x720/MP4). It should look great on an Apple TV.

You can also watch this video via low quality but fast loading Flash players at YouTube, Google Video, Yahoo! Video, Viddler, and Blip TV. And several versions of this video (including high-definition MPEG-4 and DivX) can be downloaded from the Internet Archive.
