HD: Hawaii Democratic Caucus
Hawaii Democratic Caucus from hawaii on Vimeo. The Hawaii Democratic Caucus was held the evening of Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008. Prior to this year's hotly contested race between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama (who was born in Hawaii), the state's record turnout for the primary caucus was 4,800 people in 1988. Last night, over 36,000 people turned out to participate. Long lines everywhere, chaos and confusion in several locations, and handmade ballots had to suffice for many when the printed ones ran out. In the end, Obama received 76 percent of the Hawaii Democratic vote, versus Clinton's 24 percent. The above is the embedded video player from Vimeo, one of the few online video hosts to serve up HD content. To see the HD video (and not a scaled and compressed Flash version), however, you need to view it at Vimeo or download the original movie file (77MB/1250x720/MP4). It should look great on an Apple TV. You can also watch this video via low quality but fast loading Flash players at YouTube, Google Video, Viddler, and Blip TV. DivX fans can find this video at Stage6 (in HD). And both MPEG-4 and DivX versions can be downloaded from the Internet Archive.
