Robotic Reptiles
Day two of the long Memorial Day weekend found us at Bishop Museum's monthly "Family Day." The current exhibit features animatronic lizards, which is all fine and good, except for one scene with blood and stuff. Aloun Farms
Katie and Zac are joined by neighbor Nathan on a trip to Aloun Farms in Ewa. Games, kiddie rides, shave ice and a "hay ride" make for a great, but scorching hot, day. Music is "Sweet Pea" from First Album by Thursday Group (Magnatune/CC:BY-NC-SA). Zac Wild
A quick clip of my rock-star son Zac (just shy of three years old) performing his unique cover of the "Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi" theme song. The iffy video quality reflects desperate attempts to rescue the scene from poor lighting. But I think Zac's enthusiasm for the material still comes through. Note the spontaneous stage dive! +Search Technorati for other videoblog posts. http://www.lightfantastic.org/imr/extras/videoblog/content/hihipuffyzac.mov

Towel Day
Hoopy froods around the world commemorated the life and genius of the late, great Douglas Adams today in the fifth annual "Towel Day." Contributing photos of one's towel and its travels on this special day is a longstanding tradition... but videoblogging it? Hey, why not? Sweet Stuff
What better way to reward a child for surviving a trip to the dentist than a cool dose of sugar? A quickie post with no music and poor sound, but I got it online less than half an hour after returning home. That's gotta count for something, right? http://www.lightfantastic.org/imr/extras/videoblog/content/icecream.movPosted by Ryan at 10:03 PM | Comments (0)

Ala Moana Morning
Ala Moana Beach Park and Magic Island shortly after dawn. While this area will soon be packed with people, this early in the morning it's primarily the domain of exercise nuts and senior citizens. More Traffic
What was supposed to be a quick morning errand turned into an ordeal, as a series of accidents on the freeway slowed traffic to a crawl all over the island. This is my first "typical" videoblog entry, meaning it features me, talking to the camera, with slightly disproportionate... er, enthusiasm given the circumstances. Maybe next time I'll vlog myself making breakfast. Then I'll really be an official videoblogger. Podcasting Thing
Continuing where we left off in "Bytemarks Lunch," the geeks head down to the University of Phoenix to catch a business podcasting seminar led by Roxanne Darling and Shane Robinson of Bare Feet Studios. Among the many notable people in attendance was Andy Bumatai, who I'd really love to see get into podcasting. Background music is "Seasons" from Vibrant by Cargo Cult (Magnatune/CC:BY-NC-SA). May Day
Katie performed in her first May Day celebration at Mililani Waena Elementary School. Too cute! Now, after days of practicing in the scalding hot sun, the skies were gray today... but all the music and dancing apparently kept most of the rain away.Every grade's presentation was great, though of course I liked the first graders' part best. Maybe I'll share a montage of the rest of the program later.
