WalkAmerica
WalkAmerica, an annual charity walk for the March of Dimes, in Waikiki yesterday morning. After speeches (Duke Aiona and Mufi Hanneman) and a warm-up workout at Kapiolani Park, walkers head down Kalakaua Avenue toward Magic Island at Ala Moana Beach Park. The video only gets as far as the Waikiki police station and Duke Kahanamoku's statue, however. Music is "Illusion (Bedrock Mix)" from Faces of Epiphany by Kenji Williams (Magnatune/CC:BY-NC-SA). You can download a larger version (320x240/60MB) courtesy the Internet Archive. +Search Technorati for other videoblog posts. http://www.lightfantastic.org/imr/extras/videoblog/content/walkamerica.mov

In-Laws
My in-laws are in town, so the family came together at my brother-in-law's townhouse near Pearl Harbor (he's in the Navy). Kids at play, basically. Finally a vog entry with people as the focus rather than scenery! And I let a little bit of the natural sound come through in this one. Music is "Other Self" from Faces of Epiphany by Kenji Williams (Magnatune/CC:BY-NC-SA). A visit to Sushi Sasabune (1417 South King St., Honolulu, Hawaii, USA) with Alex and Sandy Avriette, newlyweds. Video was taken as the restaurant was closing, so don't judge the place based on all the plastic wrap by far, chef Seiji Kumagawa makes the best sushi I've ever had.
