Lunch
Aloha Friday lunch at Han Yang in Liliha. I know there must be a word for
the array of small dishes that accompany a Korean meal, but whatever it's
called, I love it.

Surfboards
The McClain's auction space at 1 N. King Street hosts this display of
Spider Surfboards. Downtown Honolulu isn't where I'd expect to see surf
stuff, but it's no less interesting to gawk at through glass than oak
armoirs and antique lamps.

Bytemarks
Burt Lum's monthly Bytemarks lunch gathering again brings together the
brightest minds in technological innovation. Not pictured: everyone else.

Bread
Fresh baked, made-from-scratch bread, whipped up by my kitchen-mad wife.
The whole house smells good enough to eat!

Sick Mac
Not long after my first crash and my first "archive and restore" trip to the Genius Bar (something Disk Warrior could have handled, if I had it), my iMac is acting up again. An invalid extent entry that Disk Utility (off Startup Disk 1) and fsck can't fix. So, it's back for more drastic measures. Shudder.

Taste of Honolulu
The annual Taste of Honolulu festival, a benefit for Easter Seals Hawaii. The island's top chefs and restaurants come together to showcase their signature dishes. Yum!

Smith Street
First moblog post from my PalmOne Treo 700p (an upgrade from a Treo 650). Still not the sharpest digital camera out there, but the resolution got a boost and the EVDO network speeds uploads considerably. Also still testing the Chatter email client. Not as slick as SnapperMail, but not bad.

Hike
Manoa Falls trail. A nice hike, but probably not one to attempt in business attire over your lunch break. As if anyone would. Photo posted in part to test Chatter, an email client for the PalmOne Treo smartphone.

Cars
You could say our family has taken a liking to Pixar's latest flick,
"Cars." This Happy Meal collection is just the tip of the iceberg. (And
Jen's still waiting for Fillmore, the 70s VW bus.) We've got the
soundtrack, mail-order Pop-Tarts pens, and, of course, cereal box toys as
well. When my kids see the huge Power Wheels rider at Costco, I think
their heads will explode.

Crash
Huh. My first official crash on Mac OSX. I've had this machine nearly a
year. I think I pushed Firefox a little too hard.

"Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body." Burps, farts,

"Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body." Burps, farts,
boogers, and more! This fellow tells you all about nasal mucous. Of course,
a giant blob of the stuff periodically makes an appearance, much to the
delight of little onlookers.

Boots & Kimo's
Boots & Kimo's in Kailua (131 Hekili St., 808-263-7929). Voted Best
Pancakes in Hawaii. Also known for drawing a crowd, we lucked out with a 10
minute wait. Said to be Jorge Garcia's (Hurley on "LOST") favorite
restaurant.

Specs
Katie and Jen both got new glasses today. Katie's been looking forward to
hers since picking out her frame a week ago. Jen got hers because Alex
snapped her original pair about 20 minutes before this photo was taken.
(They just swapped the lenses.) Timing is everything.
