Backyard

Alex helps keep grandma's new backyard tidy. It doesn't look like much, but
you should've seen it a month ago. The whole yard looked like the Amazon,
overgrown with thick weeds (that had basically evolved into trees), broken
pots, rotting lumber and tons of mosquitos, a legacy of my late grandmother
and her late intemperate dogs. A helpful neighbor and his friend helped us
clear it out over a couple of busy weeks (in addition to other odd jobs).
It was a Mother's Day project, but the kids are the real beneficiaries,
having a backyard to play in for the first time since moving into Mililani.
