NaNoWriMo Breaking News

Hey there everyone,

I have some very beautiful news. Yesterday while the server was asleep, the Memory Fairy fluttered by and deposited a beautiful new chip of memory in the little guy's motherboard. Or wherever the fairies put that kind of stuff.

A change in demeanor was evident almost immediately, and we were all overjoyed to see the wee thing bounding along again, tearing after the other servers and terrorizing the kind-hearted technicians at the web hosting company.

From what Russ tells me, the increased memory will allow the server to be able to greet you by name, remember your favorite drink, and carry on basic conversations about the latest happenings in the worlds of entertainment and politics. It should also cut down on those Php errors some of you have been getting.

Hooray for the Memory Fairy!

Item! The t-shirt shop will be once again full to the gills with all sizes and colors by the end of the week. I'll post a note here when the sexy, ring-spun garments are ready for adoption.

Item! Have you guys ever read George Saunders? I've only just started getting into him, but I was trolling the on-line audio archives of This American Life the other night and I came across Saunders reading a story he'd written called "Offloading for Mrs. Schwartz." The story is weird and beautiful, a strange mix of sci-fi and stumbling, everyday life. If you're at work right now and are blessed with DSL, a sound card, and lack of general supervision, head to the above page, click on the blue RA box and give it a listen (it's about 17 minutes into the program).

Item! If you're in the Bay Area, don't forget about the Rock and Roll Spelling Bee tonight (the 22nd) in San Francisco. All of the juicy details are available here.

Item! More soon,

Chris
