|
A-L-O-H-A... ...i ka lei People are you listenin' to what we're about to say? A-L-O-H-A, a little aloha in our day Could you imagine all around the world, Let's spread a little bit of aloha, (Sing it.) A-L-O-H-A, a little aloha in our day Aloha means hello, and aloha means goodbye, Let's spread a little bit of aloha, (Sing it.) A-L-O-H-A, a little aloha in our day This song is the title track on an album by local band "The Mana`o Company." It was the first release by the group since 1991, featuring a mix of old and new faces John Baricuatro, Jr., Weldon Kekauoha, Danny Kennedy, Kaulana Pakele, and Salaam Tillman. It first caught the ear of my daughter Katie (then four years old) as the jingle for an Aloha Airlines commercial. It was her favorite song for a while there, although until I found out who performed it, I didn't know that it didn't come from an airline's marketing division. It's catchy, if a little cheesy, and as it turns out, my daughter's not the only person who like's it. Special thanks to Lisa for identifying, and locating, the song. You can buy the album at Mele.Com. |
